Started a 223 Rem shorty classic carbine....

Started a 223 rem shorty classic carbine with peep sights..yes some might find cutting down a 24" 223 ultra barrel offensive but I want a quick responder to my yote problem... And maybe a fun little project.

I have not cut it just added the a NoDak Spud rear sight and taped where I want to cut it. Will order a front site on this weekend after a use my brothers calipers. Might get a Smith to cut and crown. I keep talking myself cutting it down myself.
Going back to my yote problem. Shot one that would not get off my porch. Thought it was my dog at 4am almost tried to let it in. Did not need coffee that morning and my wife will never have to ask me to change the porch light again. It's so wooded here and these yotes are not fearful, a short barrel won't be a handicap.

Looks good so far buddy. Good luck on your coy-dog problem. You have the right solution in mind, the only one that really works.
These fine little H&R's really lend themselves to be "shorty's"....<><....:)

    It sounds like you need to start your own yote education program.

From that story, it sounds like you need a red dot or reflex sight, maybe even a laser, on your gun... you won't see a thing through your peep sight in the dark. I love shorties... and it is not offensive to cut down the bull contour... I think bull barrels make the best shorty profile.
