I have mentioned in previous posts having seen .44 Mag load data using IMR 3031. I finally found the box my IMR Handloaders guide was packed in. So for those wanting some rifle specific loads for their Handi Rifles, here's what I have.
All powder charges listed are for Rem. cases, 2 1/2 Rem primers, and Rem 240 gr SP,
.430" dia 1.610" COL test barrel length 22" [all loads are compressed, reduce charges by 10% for starting loads, those listed are considered maximum] [IMR guide published 4/98, proceed with caution, and at your own risk. The only load I have tried was with 3031, and it was safe in my gun]
IMR 4227............23.5gr............1680fps............39,500cup
IMR 4198............25.5gr............1515fps............26,400
IMR 3031............27.0gr............1190fps............18,900
IMR 4895............28.0gr............1225fps............18,300
For a couple sub sonic rifle loads consider...
IMR 4350............27.0gr............850fps............13,900cup
IMR 4831............27.0gr............720fps............12,500
Since this data is 14+ years old I am posting it for entertainment purposes. I am not recommending the use of these loads, but if you want to try them, they were published by IMR, so check with them to see if they would still recommend their use.
