I've got to start off by saying that overall I really like the H&R laminated thumbhole stock, but I do have some questions and concerns about it.
The length of pull is about an inch longer than what I believe is considered "standard" of about 13-1/2" (which works very well for me) and the reach to the trigger is so long I have to use the first pad (just below the nail) on my finger to reach the trigger, or rotate my hand out, away from the grip, to use the first joint. Has anyone else noticed this? (My hands are not small or my fingers short by any means!) Also, the height of the comb is a little low, which I have seen mentioned here. I could deal with the long LOP and the low comb, but the reach to the trigger is so long I believe it could be dangerous!
Which leads to the following questions. Has anyone shortened the butt stock on the receiver end to allow for a shorter reach to the trigger? And has anyone changed the pitch of the butt stock to make the top of the comb parallel to the barrel?
Maybe H&R would make these changes for me, since they fitted the buttstock at the same time they fitted the new barrel.
I also want to add that the customer service at H&R was outstanding and they did an awesome trigger job at my request!
I appreciate your comments.
