Load info for 357 Maxi??
« on: April 16, 2012, 11:33:56 AM »
I recently acquired some Hornady 200 gr. RN Interlocks in .358.  Has anyone here loaded such a heavy bullet in their 357 Maxi and if so maybe you could recommend a load?  I don't expect specifics (liability issues, etc.)  ::)   I have not been able to find much information re this setup....maybe just need to look deeper???  ???
Thx,  Gerald

Right now, I have 4227 and RL7.  I have been using the RL7 in my 38-55.

Right now, I have 4227

Which 4227?   If it is IMR4227 made in Canada then data is not interchangable with H4227.  If the bottle of IMR4227 says made in Australia then it is the same as the now discontinued H4227 and the H4227 data can be used.

Shift through the pages of this site and you may find what you're looking for.     http://357maximum.com/

I use H110, have only loaded Rem 200gr Sp bullets once, but a lot of H110 and Hornady 180xtp for a confident foundation for the heavier bullet.

I pushed the 200 grain to 1900fps with H110, found data on Handloads.com long ago.

BTW,  I am not happy with Rel7 in the maximum if I am wanting to get full speed out of it.  I do use Rel7 with some thin plated Ranier Ballistics 158gr bullets and light plinker loads to keep the velocity down due to the bullet construction.
