Well I was at a estate sale yesterday and picked these up anyone give me any info on what I have the Saber says chickopee 63 on it, the one knife is a S&W and the other two are loveless one with a sheath the other W/O

Ames made swords in Chicopee Massachusetts, making many during the Civil War.  Here's a website telling the story, just scrolll down and click onto the blue links and you may find your sabre.  Last I knew, Ames was still making garden tools, shovels, rakes etc.  Ames certainly was not alone, other makers, domestic and foreign are listed too...

I inherited what I believe is a northern calvary sword / saber that has a grip very much like the one you show. Blade is about 30 inches I think.  All I know is that I have Never had the arms or wrists to be able to handle the thing. Maybe those guys who spent days on a hand plow behind a horse had the brawn to manage those swords.  I think my great great grandfather??? was about 17 in the Iowa calvary when he went to war.   I've often wondered how they really used them and how sharp they were in use.

Very nice! Looks like you scored! I may even be a little bit jealous... No idea what any of it is worth, but I would love to have that S&W if you ever decide to sell it.
