Shot my first turkey yesterday!

Scared the crap outta everyone in the frozen food section.

It was awesome! Gettin' old is so much fun...

Remember: Don't make old People mad.

We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to piss us off

Yep, my grand dad at 91 about pulled something like that! He got mad a groundhogs and took his 16 ga. into Walmart to make sure they got him the right ammo after selling him 12 ga! Was some fast manuvering by the management kept things civil. hehe

And all this time, I thought you were George!

George Phillips, an elderly man from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"
He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me."
Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."
George said, "Okay."
He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot and killed them both; the dogs are eating them right now and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Gettin' old is fun!!

THAT is a great painting!

I actually knew a fellow in Tiverton RI, who was a widely known drunk. One evening he called the PD to report a couple of kids trying to break into his barn.

He was told something like "are you sure Mr Manchester they are trying to steal something?" He replied, YUP!, I'm watching them thru the scope of my 30-06!"
A cruiser showed up in minutes

. . They got the two kids.

True story. I laugh everytime I think of him. Hes gone some 15 years but he was one for the ages.......I'll be 66 and the only one left still shooting and hunting of a group of five who spent each year hunting......all the rest are gone. life's short----have fun!

Our local Commisary has frozen whole pigs weighing from 25-100lbs. I would advise against trying this on post.

Hey gendoc,

most of em don't know what a sacalait is and ain't never seen a cypress knee.
I used to fish with an ole boy on Dorcheat Bayou, Ricks a big ole boy and scared to
death of snakes of any kind. We floated the bayou one Saturday, him paddlin the jonboat
from the front as always, coming back we used the trolling motor. Hung the boat up on some cypress knees and Rick told me to get out an push cause he was not putting his foot in that snaky water. Caught a lot of red brim and a few bass that day and according to Ricks count, we seen 12 snakes.
