What to buy?
« on: June 11, 2011, 07:47:33 PM »
I'm looking for a new .22 to play around with.  I want a .22 that is very accurate with open sights.  I have a lever action Ithaca (basically the same design as the Henrys), so I already have something that shoots a lot of lead fast.

I've come up with two major options, the H&R Sportster and the CZ 452 Special Military Trainer.  I've toyed with the idea of putting a peep sight on, too.

Has anyone used one of these?  The H&R is a lot cheaper, but the CZs have a certain "cool" factor.  Also, anyone put a peep sight on one of these models?

I think the CZ is "a lot more rifle." While no rifle is perfect, the CZs tend to offer a LOT of accuracy for your dollar.

Summit,

I have a 452 Lux (much like the Special Military Trainer) with BRNO Target/Peep sights and it has to be one of the funnest rifles to shoot that I own. Pure shooting pleasure. I'd gladly pay the extra money over the H&R and have the CZ.
