With regard to springs the Glock guy checking guns at a Glock match said the springs were the same .This was just about the time the captured spring came out , things may have changed ?
I have mixed a 9mm in with a mag full of 40's and it shot  . Bullet hit target side ways .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

Shootall is correct. The recoil spring rate in the .40 is the same as the 9mm in the same frame size. Don't know what the spring rates are in Gen 4.

There was a thread several years ago on the Warrior Talk forum where it was discussed about converting .40 ~> 9mm due to ammo crunch at the time. One of the firearm instructors that frequent that forum posted a YouTube where he simply swapped out a G19 barrel in the G23. It functioned flawlessly but the group was ~50% bigger than when the barrel was in G19. This was attributed to the larger diameter hole in the slide for the .40 S&W barrel.

I have a LoneWolf .40S&W ~> 9mm conversion barrel and a G32 barrel for my G33. I've had zero problems with either one.
