I won't mention the price the my FIL is asking, as I consider it a little steep. If I can get him down to $225, I will be happy with it. I know what he got the gun for new, and roughly how many rounds he has shot through it. I am not going to pay him more for the gun than he paid new for it. I also do not want to take advantage of him, as he is currently in the hospital, and they need the money to pay the bills. My wife and I are doing all we can to help my father in-law and mother in-law out, but they are stubborn. I bought a .30-30 from him when my wife and I were dating, I got it for steal, but ended up giving him the scope back that was in 5 years ago to mount on the H&R. I have no clue what happened to the scope, but he no longer has it. Anyways, I would like for each of my boys to have a gun from each of their grandfathers and buying the H&R would meet my goal.
