Kentucky hunting and shooting info.

I am not sure if this is the right forum for this post, but I will start here.

I live in Massachusetts.  I love hunting, fishing, shooting.  I was born in Boston, and lived in Mass all my life.  However lately I have been thinking of eventually relocating.  I wanted to stay somewhere on the east coast because I love being out on the ocean, but my son had suggested Kentucky, and after doing a little research it looks pretty good. 

How are the gun laws in Kentucky?  From what I see online, It looks gun owner freindly.  how hard is it to get a CCW permit?  I have always had one in Mass, but we have to jump thru hoops to get and keep them.

any info would be appreciated.

Jim,
 Having lived in KY all my life I can say that is is a very gun friendly state and it is not hard to get a ccw. Lots of places to hunt and fish and enjoy the outdoors. Lots of counties to locate in that aren't that crowded where you can get some land to go with it too. KY does have some reciprical laws regarding ccw but, not sure if your state is included with that. Hope this helps!

I agree, we are a very gun friendly state with tons of outdoors open to the public.

Thanks guys for the feed back.  I really appreciate it.  I am hoping to take a long vacation and drive there once my son is out of school for the year.  I am thinking of staying in Lexington, and making day trips to different parts of the eastern end of the state.  I am looking forward to it.

$75 and pass the class for a CCW permit. As far as state gun laws, if your legally able to own it in accordance with the BATF,  then have at it! There's no state ban on anything that I know of, but someone else may correct me and I want them to please do if I'm wrong.

I have lived in NC, Al, and KY. Kentucky has the most gun friendly laws of the three.  But hunting and fishing is better in NC. I still have a house on the cost of NC and Deer season last 2 months and you can get a lifetime hunting/fishing permit for $500 which includes saltwater. Ky deers tend to be larger in general but there are some large ones in NC also.
