Major Charles Askins Books...

 :D  Have any of you read the Majors books on shotguns and birds????  I have several but I lost one...it talked a great deal about shotguns, loads, an American game birds...for the life of me I cannot remember the title...I remember in one section he mentioned having a 16 ga. double with twist barrels and it was chambered for 3 inch shells...Any info. on the  title of this book would help..I suppose during my moves after my wife's passing, I  lost it..anyway I would buy another if I can get a  title...thanks...

He loved his 21's and 16ga but some of his balistic thoughts were out there. Of course Jack O did the same with his pet 270

Actually "Major" Charles Askins, was really "Colonel" Charles Askins. I as a youngster, read much of the Colonel, until one day I realized he was giving HIS opinions on much that was already common knowledge, and was getting paid for it.

Wrong they where two different people,the Major was the Colonel's father and a highly respected shotgun authority
