contender .223 and the RCBS precision mic
« on: December 23, 2002, 03:10:49 PM »
I have 3 .223 single shots , With some testing with the RCBS precision mic I found that with the speer tnt bullet seated as the book says at 2.250 in my contender it is .010 off the lands (no wonder it shoots sub MOA) I stumbled on to this load early on and just kinda left it alone.
In the encore I have The bullet would be .055 off the lands (I havent checked to see if it will make it to .010 off )
In the NEF handi rifle I have the bullet is .225 off the lands (we all know Im not gettin close to that. )
Just a neat little gadget to make things easyer . (also checks headspace)

I have used the mike for the same things and its great.  They also made one in 7TCU which I used with great sucess.  One does know where the bullet meets the lands and is so easy to check different bullets seating. :D  :-D    :)  :)
