I hate chipmunks and kill all I see. .22LR does a good job. Kid likes/feeds them though, so I have to be stealthy. Wife heard 4 shots last night (I was in the permanent ground blind aka 2 car garage taking out munks on the playset) and yelled at me for shooting deer from the house.....lol The fox in the backyard gets a pass.

I pop chimmunks all the time too. About a week ago I took one with my 44mag at about 20 feet. A 240gr. hollowpoint is a little too much for chippy's. :o

I also shoot those little vermin any chance I get - so destructive. People that do not live in the real country do not understand how destructive those "cute" little critters can be.

I think I told this story at least once, but by wife did not want me to shoot the little critters in the back yard - the raccoons, chipmunks, skunks etc. That is, until they started to dig up her flowers - all bets were off. I got the order to kill them as quickly as possible. BTW I will shoot any fox, coyote or ground hog that gets too close to my place too. Birds and rabbits are Okee Dokee. I only shoot the rabbits in season.

Foxes are much like raccoons and skunks. Very susceptible to rabies, mange, and other parasites which are dangerous to people and pets. When a fox sees a prey animal with rabies, all he sees is dinner. He will take the meal, and never realize he just got rabies.

Don't shoot foxes, bobcats, coons, possums, or skunks, but I'll shoot every coyote I see.  We don't have a big rabies problem around here.

We have a dog so all skunks, porcupines, and coyotes are shot on sight.  If I had a henhouse foxes would be too.

Haven't seen a fox around here - I think the coyotes and wolves already got them all!

Around here if you set a live trap for cats and skunks, you may get a gray fox. I think they have move toward the small towns for better restaurants, and fewer (I didn't none, I said fewer) coyotes. Coyotes consider foxes dinner.

Ya know, the funny thing is, folks say if you have wolves you won't have coyotes.  If you have coyotes, you won't have foxes.........Now, someone explain to me why we have all three in abundance??

Pete,

Your wolves, coyotes and foxes are obviously liberals and have signed a non-aggression treaty. ;)

How about the common food supply such as mice, bunnies, and deer are also in abundance their not having to compete with each other? Or perhaps bikerbeans is right.
