Wife and I built a small wall next to part of the patio.  Wanted to put a pair of lamps on each end so we went shopping.  Junk was $40 each and there was nothing nice.  We went online and found some stuff that was okay but they wanted up to $500 each for them.

So I decided to make my own.
The globe light was $9.95 each at Lowe's.  The hat top is a squirrel guard for a bird feeder.  They were $14 each.  Some 1/4" allthread with nuts $$6 for all. The 1/2" copper pipe I pulled out of my junk pile, dipped it in muratic acid to remove the tarnish and polished it.  The wood is Jatoba left over from another project.  Wire I had laying around.  Mounted them on 2" galvanized pipe also out of the junk pile.  Total $27 in each light plus a couple of bulbs.

There was a 1 1/2" hole in the squirrel guard so I covered it with a piece of copper I hammered to fit the curve.  I coated all copper with clear laquer.
I think they turned out nice.
