Handi rifle pricing
« on: February 26, 2010, 03:52:33 PM »
I stopped buy a mom and pop gun shop on the way to visit my aunt today just to see what he had in handi rifles, I'm sorta looking for a 204 Ruger but he didn't have one had a number of 243 and 22-250 also had a 22 Hornet for $249 and a 17 HMR for $259 both with the pallet wood stocks. I'm not real familiar with those so I was wondering if the price was inline with the market, I might like the 22 Hornet since I don't have one of those........... ???

Prices sound on the money. I see the pallet wood stocked Handis going for $255 at Bud's.

The 17hmr sells for about $100 less new with synthetic stock, sounds like a used one someone has swapped stocks on , the others are about right for new rifles. If you want to know what new rifles sell for, look at Bud's, his prices include shipping.

Too much unless it is hard to find and what you want. Hornets seem to be discontinued. Might be worth picking up.

With the folks in Ilion making batches of rifles, prices vary with availability and demand.  It's basic market forces at work.

I've got a .223 Ulta Hunter on layaway and the price was under $300.00, out-the-door.  I'll pay it off later this month and bring it home.

thanks guys , I might go by and pick up that 22 Hornet. I don't have anything in that caliber and it might be nice to have around.  :)
