.30-30 or .30-30AI reamer?
« on: December 13, 2009, 05:00:12 PM »
I recently picked up a project rifle, and I will need to clean up the chamber a bit (rifle is a .30-30).  The chamber has some rust and pitting, and you can only seat the cartridge around 2/3 of the way in.  I'm hoping a standard .30-30 reamer will clean up the rust and return the gun to working condition, but may end up requiring a .30-30AI.  Anyone have a lead on where I could pick one up?  Thanks!

I rented a 30-30Ackley from 4D, Midway sells PT&G, Brownell's sells Clymer.

Spray some PB Blaster in the chamber and let it sit for a few minutes.
Scrub the chamber with a chamber brush. It should clean right up.
