Benelli has a website with forums for each of the brands sold under their marker to include Stoeger. There you will find actual owners telling it like it is. I've not been in at least a couple years or more but I'm sure if you'll search you can find it. You'll learn more there both good and bad than anywhere else I can think of.

I have owned a Stoger 2000 for the last three years.  Mine was an 12 ga autoloader with a 28" barrel and camo pattern.  I did have a problem with the camo pattern peeling off of the gun.  However, I sent it back to Stoeger and they did a repair.  The gun did fine on a pheasant hunt.  It also did fine on a turkey hunt.  However, I traded it in a few weeks ago for a Browning Silver Hunter.  I traded it b/c I always bought a Browning.  The only issue I had with the gun was that sometimes the loading was awkard and I would need to dry cycle the weapon to get it to load.

I have a 2000 and it works fine. Go to shotgun world and they have a site dedicated to Stoeger. Mine cycles everything from 1 oz. handloads to 3 inch duck and goose loads. If the birds get close enough to see anything peeling off that will be the last thing they ever see. ;)
