Mod 7 in 308
« on: November 22, 2009, 03:03:37 PM »
Have had this rifle for over two years and never shot it.  Bought it on an auction site.  Previous owner said it liked 150 CoreLokts so I got a few boxes.  Also handloaded a bunch of other stuff in 150 and 165.  Took the Mod 7 out this weekend to sight it in.  Three shot cloverleafs with the factory stuff.  Can't improve on that.  Took five shots to sight it.  Last three all touched at 1 1/2 high.  Never had such luck before.

I'm over magnums and high velocity stuff.  Last two rifles have been 7-08 and 308 and both shot great.  Much lighter to carry as well.  Where has my head been all my life?

Charles,

Good for you on the magnum decision. The Model 7 in .308 sounds like a fine rifle.

He Chuck, I am with you.  I have 4 of these and just can't say enough about how great they carry and shoot.  All four of them shoot sub-moa especially with handloads.  I am pretty much done for the year.  I shot a doe and then a nice 9 point sunday night.  Love these rifles!

I've always wanted a Model 7 in 308 Win. or 7mm-08 Rem. for myself.   Lately I've been eye balling the Model 7 Youth Gun in 223 Rem. for my son.  ;)
