In the FAQs and Help sticky, use control f to search the page for simple COL gauge, it's in the Handloading section.

It's in there.
Tim's done a great job of amassing a lot of information but it's difficult to navigate until you;ve read it ten times.

Using control f as directed when you open the FAQs will greatly expedite finding any word(s) on the page, the link peternap posted is listed in the Handloading section as I mentioned which is in the thread titled More Handi Info which is part of the FAQs. FYI, COL = Cartridge Overall Length.  ;)

I started using COL gages, then decided I was collecting too many.  And different guns take different lengths.  I load for 22 different calibers, too many to keep gages on.  Metal Lyman Calipers have a dominate location on my reloading bench.

Wal, I'll tell ya what.  I've been shooting and handloading since about three weeks before Christ made Corporal.  I'm 65, I got my first .22 at the ripe old age of 8, my first centerfire rifle at the age of 12, my first centerfire handgun at 16 and this site teaches me something useful every dang time I pop in here.  (About three times a day)  Ha, thinking about it, I didn't own a BB gun until I was old enough to vote!  Ain't that a hoot?

Thank you to everyone here, it's a hoot!
