I think they only made em 1 year, about the same as the 35 Whelen, except it's been reintroduced twice now, don't think that will happen with the Russian due to the milsurp issue.

Thanks Tim,

I found a couple at a gun show new in box, tempted to go back and get one.

Hey Quick,
or anyone that knows. What might the military surplus issue be. I have seen threads refering to 223 & 06 having stuck rounds and such with them but have seen no posts refering to 7.62x39 or any other military rounds (don't read about the others much). Just wondered if the issues are the same with the other mils such as 308 surplus and any others military rounds or if other things come into play?  223 & 30-06 are the only mil cals I have and they're bolts. How do the issues effect/affect production of Handi calibers? Just currious, just asking.
Thanks anyone, eddie

No fires from hard, recessed primers, that's why it was discontinued, complaints from owners using milsurp ammo.  Sporting ammo works fine in them, but too many people bought them to take advantage of cheap milsurp ammo.  :-\
