700 price check
« on: July 17, 2009, 06:00:29 PM »
Hi,
I'm hoping you folks could shed some light on this one. What do you think this one is worth, and are these older one's good?

700 (BDL maybe)  in 22-250
NOT a heavy barrel
24" barrel
Aluminum but plate
The tip of the safety is the old flat kind not the round kind
Pressed checkering
Used but not abused.  Some wear. Crown looks good.
Not sure what year it was made.  Serial # is 145xxx.

Sorry for the somewhat loose description. I don't know too much about 700s. Price is less than a push feed Model 70. Are 700s all controlled round feed or push feed. ???
What do you think?
Thanks!

Rem 700s are push feed all of them.

Used prices on M700s around here generally run around $450 for rifle alone for older ones like that. Newer ones might run a wee bit more for bare rifle but not a lot more for the standard BDL with ADLs a bit less. If of current manufacture and nearly as new they go some higher.

I usually pay from $400.00 to $450.00 with a scope of some sort.  Some calibers are worth a little more.  They are great rifles, you can't go wrong.  Condition matters too!
