This sounds like a bad idea.

Ditto.
All I see is a blown up rifle to come. Fun to toy around the idea though....

If I do all my research and don't go hotrodding what doesn't need hotrodding I don't see any danger.  :-\  I would fire several rounds with a string first to be sure.

All I will say, is if you decide to go through with this, be careful my friend. If you are wanting more power then look beyond the H&R....ok? Somethings are just designed to be what they are. Though I respect ones that push boundries (safely)
Still, a workhorse will not win a race, but it does what it does and it does it very well.

the 600 is not a high pressure chambering. it's BIG, but it's not a pressure threat. it IS a recoil threat ...

Fish is right, it only runs about 36kpsi(CIP), but has a huge .687" case head.

CH4D will make me the dies I need for $200ish.  20 brass for $140ish.  A Lee Classic Cast, $100ish.  Custom mold for huge bullets, $150ish.  20 gauge 3.5" barrel, $150ish.

Under $800 for all the fun someone should be able to have!

Ty, I'm glad you weren't my neighbor 20 years ago (and the same age) or we would both be dead from some freak ammunition/gun experiment, LOL   Have fun with it, but be careful.

Tyke, I don't know iffen its the recoil or them wemmons, but I'm gettin' pretty worried about your need for pain.  I'm thinkin' a little range time with a Sportster in 22 LR is needed to bring ya back to the present.  But all joking aside, yer gettin into some pretty dangerous recoil levels.  Things can start letting go with that much recoil.  Take care buddy.  DP

when you get around to shooting this cannon,#1...i wanna watch,#2 if you shoot it prone as previously suggested, well, you'll probably be sitting on that shoulder you fired from for the rest of your days,or it might end up behind your knee or something.... ;)
