Anyone have a Encore Pro-Hunter 28" 223 barrel?

Recently I've seen some great deals on the encore 28" 223 barrels.  I was thinking about buying one for plinking at the range.  Does anyone here have one?  If so how well does it shoot?

I have a regular Encore 223 rifle barrel that shoots very well; a Pro-Hunter barrel should shoot just as well.

I've had mine about six months now.  I really like the way it shoot and get some good groups with reloads and factory rounds. About the only negative thing I can say is the balance is terrible.  I bought it to coyote hunt with.  Its a bit heavy for a carry gun and seems nose heavy to me,,,,,,, but thats only my opinion.  You will love to shoot it and for range action, it will be a blast.

I have the g-2 20" bbl in 223 it shoots great. I haven't found anything that doesn't shoot good groups out of it but I played and reloaded it for a year now and found a super load that prints a 1 3/4" group at 250 yrds, that is a keeper gun for me. Now I'm thinking about having the trigger worked on with a spring kit and a sear angle change the gun smith says it will be around 2 lbs trigger with no creep.

Thompson Center does NOT offer an accuracy guarantee -- they never have. 

With that being said, however, the Pro Hunter barrels of theirs that I have owned all managed to afford sub-MOA groups with minimal load development.

I have returned 2 barrels and they have been replaced. Maybe they dont offer a guarantee but they took care of me. I just love you know it all guys!

How is simply stating the facts being a  "know it all"?

I'm aware of a number of shooters who couldn't get better than 1.75-2.00 inch accuracy -- at best -- and sent them in. They were returned with a note saying they "fall within specs."

Perhaps you received different treatment, or perhaps there were other issues with your barrels.

But the bottom line is that just because a TC barrel will not break MOA does not mean TC will replace it.

With that being said, TC's reputation for customer service was once among the best in the shooting industry. That has changed somewhat, but they are still pretty decent.

I could not be happyer with mine .Rem.JHP,give me 3/4"groups at 150yds,FMJs 1" at same.
I hand load so i will be twiking this combo and see what it will,can do.pan.

I use the 24" blue Encore 223 Remington tapered barrel with excellent results using my hand loads.

I like the 24" tapered barrels to keep the weight and length down.
