I use Warne QD on most of my rifles. they are rifle specific and i don't move them around, that said. If I was to move a scope from one rifle to another I would only loosen one of the rings to do any adjustment for different bases. the remaining ring would hold it straight and keep a reference point. When you put it back on the first rifle just do the same and it should return to where it was. Hope that made sense.
