Ejector question

I recently purchased a Handi 204.  Acknowledged all the the FAQs and 101 and it is very cool at 200yds shooting the 32gr v-max.  I have dusted a few cats and yotes and am impressed with the gun and caliber.  Question is that when I break the ejector it ejects the brass about 3/16 inch and then I manualy remove the casing.  Some websites state that these rifles eject the brass completely etc, etc.  Does my firearm need work or does that vary depending on caliber etc.

H&R started putting extractors such as yours in their centerfire rifle barrels in 2004, ALL centerfire rifle barrels now have extractors, ejectors are only found on current production shotgun and rimfire barrels now.

I guess I am a little confused does the "ALL centerfire rifle barrels now have extractors, ejectors are only found on current production shotgun and rimfire barrels now." statement mean what?  Do all current rifles and shotguns require that you manually remove the spent brass after it has been partially ejected?  Thanks!!

No, all shotguns and rimfire rifles fling the spent case out over your sholder while all center fire rifles leave it sitting in the chamber for you to pluck out with your fingers.  Larry

It's real simple.  You have an extractor barrel, not an ejector.  Personally, I wouldn't own an ejector, but I'm still stuck with one for a while.
