I think Hank at classic arms and archery charges 25.00 to do it, Evans may be the same, Buds will do it but don,t know what he would charge. Check with a local pawn shop they can ussally d o it to. Or you could get the syn version and try trading stocks with someone in the classifieds I can't remember but I think the new ones are syn only not for sure thou. I'll try and check a little farther south for you if I get a chance. 8)

You can plug your zipcode into this locator to find an FFL for transferring a firearm, check with them to verify they're still licensed and their fee first tho.

As for the stock, it's only currently available in the SB1 with the new style stock shown on the H&R website, if you find an SB2 44mag with a wood stock, make sure it was made in 2007 with an HX or NX serial number, anything before that will have the old overbore barrel, in fact if it was made very early in 2007, it still could be overbore, but there's no way to tell when in 2007 it was made by the serial number. Personally, I'd settle for a synthetic stocked SB1 and just swap the stock out, you'd have a good shooter for sure then, rather than chance getting a wood stocked overbore barrel.

Thanks again. I have made some more phone calls, it seems all anyone is showing now is the 44 mag with synthetic stock and mount for a scope (no open sights). I may go this route, my eyes aren't the greatest anymore anyway!! The prices I have been quoted are very good from the two shops here locally I have talked too (they have none on hand but they can order). I really appreciate all you guy's help and advice. Will keep you posted.......
