Sorry to hear of your health issues.   God is in control during these times and HE is still in the miracle business.

I know!!   My brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor 12 years ago next month.   It was the worst type of geloma brain cancer there is.   With the radiation and chemo, the Dr.s only gave him a 5% chance to live a year.   After 120 days and much prayer, the DR.s told us he should go home and make his final arrangments.  That is when we were able to get him into MD Anderson in Houston, TX.  Brain Cancer Research.   They took Dick as a patient without any guarantees.  Anyway they operated again and he lived until last Aug. when he passed away from other ailments but not cancer.   He had been declared cancer free for almost 7 years before his passing on to Heaven.

Most of us have more days behind us than we have before us!   The most important thing in this life is to know where we will spend the next life.  This life is preperation for the next.   Keep the Faith as you have so many wonderful people praying for you.

We are too!

May God hold you in His Hands!

A good friend and co-worker just passed the second aniversary of his being sent home to die. After a few weeks the hospice fired him because he was never home when they got there to do with him the things they do.  Shortly after that he went back to work and has never looked back.  He had colon cancer that spread to his liver, has had massive radiation and chemo as well as the surgery, lost over half of his body weight and now is on the rebound.

Hang in there.  Know you are far from alone.

I've been keeping a running acount of this on the SASS wire Saloon, and truthfuly, it's just too much to do more than one place, so here's the link:  http://sassnet.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=102683

I want to thank all of you for the well wishes and encouraging thoughts. Knowing that others care helps me keep my will strong for this fight.

Again, thanks for the thoughts, and feel free to stop over and take a look ocasionaly, I'll be keeping that thread going as long as I can, and hopefuly, till I'm fuly recovered.

This may, in the end, kill me, but it will never beat me!!

greenriver, the fact you said it was not related to smoking is great news.  means it's usually much more responsive to treatment.  i'm a doctor and i get all my cancer patients on some sort of glyconutrient whether it's mannatech or some other brand.  it really seems to help deal with the chemo and radiation.  god bless and my family's prayers are with you.

Still alive and kicking, here. Got only 3 more days of radiation to go, and chemo into early January.

Last pictures showed significant reduction in the size of the cancer.

Hope is high, but tiredness is also a big factor now.

greenriver,

Glad to hear you are doing well. While we have not exchanged posts (that I can remember anyways), I write to second Doc Mark's recommendation on the glyconutrients. I've also been on chemo since June 27th. I can say I've had almost no nausea, weight is under control, energy level is up & have just about all my hair. I say give it a shot!

God bless you and yours in these trying times. I don't get onto this forum very often so, this is the first I've heard of your health problems. My prayer go out to you and your family.

Greeenriver, with the cold weather approching don't be scared to buy mittens for your hands as a lot of us would have to wear jersy type of gloves at least one day a week in the Summer!
Those administration nurses would often say (Be glad it's not winter time) and I knew exactly what they were talking about as even a glass of tap water could be too cold to touch!

One thing that I learned over the course of treatment is that the people in the pre-ice box age survived just fine on room temperature or hot liquids even in the summertime because in my case,
I did not dare to put anything cold at all into my mouth!!!
My Best Wishes to ya and remember to keep up on the pain/nausea meds (if applicable) at least a day before the start of the Chemo sessions.
