Gobbler with the Pardner

I've been attempting to get a turkey with my little 20 gauge Pardner for 3 yrs now.  But when I carried it, for one reason or another, it all didn't come together right.  Well, it did this morning! :)

Congrats ;D I have been carrying a 12ga pardner for about 3 years myself. I have yet to pull the trigger on a bird. The day is coming[hopefully]

I like that porch and those rocking chairs. Nice place to set and watch the sun come up or set. great bird also.  Clark

I took a shot w my 12g pardner yesterday at about 45 yards and watched 'im trot away.  I know I've got to get them in closer as I had a decent pattern at 35 yards but I can't help wondering if a second shot from an auto loader would have brought it down.  ab

Got my 2nd bird yesterday with the 20 ga. in the last hour.  This one weighed 22#'s and had an 11 1/2" beard and 1" spurs. The season is now over in MO.

Congratualtions on your birds Chris. ;) I would guess you are using a standard barrel full choke in this gun? I'm looking to put a turkey barrel on my new Handi--I've posted a "wtb" for a shotgun barrel with screw in choke and have had no replys on it. If this is a full choke barrel it seems it does the job for you, what kind of patterning are you getting?

The turkeys whipped me this year, our season is over-- which was my first in turkey hunting. I had always thought about going over the last 20 years, but just never did until this year. Well, needless to say I'm hooked on it and ruined now... not too mention having to hear it from my wife about spending money on something else... I wish I had started turkey hunting 20 years ago.

BTW have you got to shoot that muzzleloader yet?
