G2 Barrels

My question is has anyone tried the G2 barrels on their non-G2 frames?  And what's the difference if any in the G2 barrels other than the lengths of 12 & 15inchers?

Living here in S. Kalifornia  :( , don't get to see these new fangled G2 thingies.  Just inquiring minds need to know.

Just got a new 23" 17HMR barrel and it fit perfectly.  KN
