Two (2) 1894 Cowboy Limited II in .38/357 with hex-barrels and buck-horn sights.  Why two?  Shoot alot (and I mean alot....!) of cowboy action.  One breaks down, the other fills right in.....(always have a back-up also in pistols and shotgun).  Marlin, IMHO, makes the best rifle for the job!!!

336-------30-30   my ole' grandpa bought it to go deer huntin' with me since i was the only one in the family that loved huntin'  he was goin' to be my deer huntin' partner,,however as the health problems crept in on him he was'nt able to go..so,i ended up with the rifle.never killed a deer with it though, however it is a tight grouper at 100 yards .. missed a deer with it once ,,guess he's still laughing at me over it..he never could get me to lay my cheek down on the stock cause i used a scope.well, first time out with it a wopper of a buckstood looking at me head on and not 30 yards either.i sent like 4 rounds at him and only found one drop of blood.. after all wasover i went to the range and shot at some targets with my cheek off the stock ,you know like you do when you are trying to see your bullet hit..anyway's i was hitting a foot high..after that i shot 3 times with my cheek on the stock and BINGO no problem hittin' a quarter sized target.. learned the lesson he always tried to teach me ,,but missed a mega buck..like i said ,i guess he's still laughing at me ;D
i wish i was just half the man, that my dog thinks i am

Being a guy that has Marlinitis, I'm curious in finding out what everyone shoots and what is their favorite Marlin. I have 18 of them with my favorite being my 1895G.

I have several of the Marlin leveractions chambered in .357 magnum and 1 that is chambered in .44 magnum...such cool littel guns to shoot.

I've had a bunch but right now I have 5 including a 1894SS in .44 mag, 1894CSS in .357, 336SS in 30/30, a pre-safety 336 in 30/30 and just bought a blued 1894 in .45 Colt.  I also have an odd Winchester or two around but prefer the Marlins by far.

I have two Cowboy Limited II's, one in 38/357mag the other in 45c.  Both have 24" barrels and full magazine, and replaced the stock sight with Marbles tang.  Both are shooters, 1" to 1/5" at 50 yards.  Have a Marlin bolt action single shot .410 I got as a kid for Christmas around '59 or '60, it can use up to 3 inch shells.

Hi, new on the forum. I have a 336 w, in 30-30 ,2007, bought then brand new. Never shooted it. The reason I bought it is very simple: I love the look of that rifle. When I got it, I ordered a set of stocks from Macon Gunstocks, extra fancy claro walnut. It took me many hours to fit it and hand rub it but looks great.  It's probably the nicest Marlin lever action in the province of Quebec, Canada.
Not hunting anymore so I have 2 Henry lever a. for target shooting, just for fun.

I've never owned any lever actions, Marlin or otherwise. A couple of weeks ago I stopped by at a new gun store and guess what followed me home - a brand new 1895 SBL.

I have had several 30-30's from Marlin over the years but the one from them I've not sold through tough times has been this:

A friend sold me this 45/70 1895 w/Ballard rifling.

Added a Marbles rear and a fiber optic front bead under the hood.

Put on a Limbsaver pad, Leupold (later switched to a Nikon) scope, and rolled up some med/high velocity Marlin Only loads hard cast 405 gr. flat noses.

Took it to the range and tried the iron sights I'd added @ 50 and 100 yards. Shot the best 100 yard unscoped group I've ever had.

I have it scoped and I shoot fine with that method as well, but very often I've thought about taking it off and hunting late season "doe days" with iron sights. It seems too cool; open-sighted like that. Handy as all get out too!

I'm always thinking about one in .375 for some reason!  ::)

Back in the 60's, I bought a new Marlin in 35 Rem. With less than a box of shells through it, I let a friend borrow it one weekend to go deer hunting. He had a house fire and lost everything, but offered to replace it. I refused, because he had a wife and new baby and out of a home too.
Two weeks ago, I was in a back woods gun shop, getting a stock replaced on my double barrel 12 Ga.
Sitting in the used rack was a 336CS in 35 Remington with a nice shiny bore and smooth action. I brought it to my shoulder and it fit like an old shoe, so I brought it home. I got to get used to 2 safety's and drop a deer with it.
