Ithaca model 37 Featherlight 20 gauge

I have a chance to trade a .243 NEF for this gun, what do you guys think?  I am totally new to Ithaca's.

Ithacas are much pricier than Handis. I have a 37 Featherweight in 20 ga. that will never be for sale. They are very light, very durable, and they point just right for me. I am a lefty and love the fact that it loads and ejects through the bottom. I put a left hand safety on mine before I shot it even once. If you like light reliable 20 ga. pumps then go for it. I bought mine new in the early 70s when my 12 ga. model 37 was stolen. Mine is 30 years old and going strong.

Excellent trade it is worth far more than a handi rifle. They don't really fit me that well I tried one long ago and me and it just didn't seem to point to the same place but they are well made guns and well worth the money. Shotgun fit is a very personal thing and you just have to shoot one to see if it and you work well together or not.

Yea, I found out that it was a 1971 model.  It shoots and points really well, I never have to adjust were it is aiming as it is always pointing at what I am looking at.  I have always wanted a 20 gauge and cant wait to get after something with it.  Thanks for the replies fellas!

Pickwick, like you say it points & shoots really well. Mine is a 1969 vintage model 37 20 GA. & weights in at around 6lbs. even. This shotgun is now my go to upland game bird gun & I'll also never part with it until I'm buried in the ground.

I started out with a 20 Featherlight and it was a sweet platform for hunting the thick stuff and anything else. Fit me and pointed like an extension of my arm and never failed to eject. Wish I had not gotten rid of mine.  :'(

great guns...i have a 1976 37 feather light 12 gauge...will not part with it.....have 18 1/2 in riot barrel....deerslayer barrel...accurate!!! and the 28 in mod barrel that it came with......i think it weighs 6 1/2 lbs......only complaint is it kicks really hard with the slugs but i dont shoot them much....mack
