A another new person here again. I've been playing with my SB2 receiver which originally had a hornet barrel and I had a .357 barrel added. It's been a while since a got to play with it due to traveling for work, you know how that is...... I noticed that the latch lever on my SB2 frame rattles when you shake it. It locks up fine but the lever can move side-to-side fairly freely and up a little bit. I also have a Pardner 20 ga with the SB1 frame, and it's lever seems to be more 'snug', for lack of a better word.
Unfortunately, I don't have another SB2 frame to compare against and was wondering if this is common. It doesn't seem to affect function and it was returned form NEF like this after the 357 barrel install, but I guess I don't remember it being that loose. I took out the trigger assembly and the lever/lock bar assy and it doesn't look like anything is wrong. The only thing that would allow the rattle is the tolerance between the latch lever cam 'teeth' and the area they engage on the lock bar. Correct? Maybe it's not being preloaded enough.
I guess I'm just asking to see if this is common or more of the abnormal.
Thanks in advance. - Brad
