223 range report

cold and windy today compounded by my camo post was not ideal to shoot.
last group at 75 yds.459.i think i have my load.

That is a nice group. What I like about Varget is that you should be able to repeat that grouping come spring, summer, and fall because it is not temperature sensitive like a lot of other powders are. I am assuming flitz that it was cold and windy (where isn't it?) and these conditions are difficult. What it should do for you is to give you the confidence that you now have a good load and will be able to make the shot when needed. When you get the chance, try this load at 200 yards and I think you will like what you see.

jeepman gets all the credit.he came up with the load.i just got lucky with a good rifle
and marine corps training.

Hey ole buddy ... you were the one pulling the trigger ... not me ... the word "lucky" and good groups do not fit well in the same sentence. I almost forgot to say ... I love the snow camo job you did on that stock and forearm. I have used crackling in some of my wood projects here at home but I would have never, ever thought of doing that on a rifle. You and stimpylu32 sure "think outside of the box" and that is pretty cool. A crackling job with greens, browns, and black might work too for other times of the year.

lucky was refering to the rifle.that i got a good one.not being lucky shooting.also that
was shooting off a bipod.

Great grouping flitz, especially in that weather. That Varget load looks like it would be a great coyote load in the winter for sure. Nothing like shooting under pressure to really bring out your strong points, congratulations buddy, you did great....<><.... ;D

it is a bsa premier 6x24x44.it was made in japan so i have good glass.it has performed
great so far.i like the name snowflake.might have to keep that one.thanks for
the comment
