Availability of New Carbine Stock Sets
« on: January 20, 2007, 10:18:41 AM »
Does anyone know the availabilty of stock sets that they are using for the new 45LC carbine and will the fore-stock fit other barrels? I don't know if the distance from the spacer to the hold down screw is the same as other Handi's. Anybody know? ::) ::)

The butt stock appears to be the same as the BC and Target, the forend appears to be shorter tho, possibly the same as the older schable forend, but of checkered walnut. I don't see them changing the position of the forend stud on the carbine, the BC and Target forends work fine on Handi barrels and vice versa.

As far as availability, I doubt very much they'll be available before the production run of the complete rifles as all will be used for that purpose before they sell the components, a call to Jenn would answer that question, I'm sure. She did tell me that the sights won't be available for quite a while, the forend will probably be the same.

Last week, when I spoke with CS, they said the butt stock is the same as the BC.  Only difference will be the forend and I think you are right Tim.  It looks like a standard schnable with checkering to me, too.

Does anyone know where I can order one of these 45LC stock sets?  I'd like to put it on the ss1-022 (.22 with iron sights).

Thanks,
-Kyle

I have a set coming from one of our fellow board members that is going on my .30-30 Handi. It will sport a steel forend spacer (and eventually a steel trigger guard), and currently wears a Williams Foolproof peep. That should make for a very elegant single shot rifle, one that H&R ought to offer on a regulard basis. Better yet would be a 24 or 26" barrel!

Good stuff Maynard!!

Thanks!  Are the 2007 prices current ($68.90 and $31.88)?  What about the metal buttplate?

Just ordered the following:

RO3271 $69.95 BC Stock
RO3944 $32.85 BC Carbine forend

He said the stock didn't come with the buttplate.  At first, he said it was $5.40, then he said he couldn't sell it because it had to be fitted.   ??? I hope the stock comes with the buttplate, or else I'm in trouble.

Thanks for the help!  I've been a Handi-Holic for years, I just didn't know there was a forum for "us".!   :D

It does have to be fitted, but it's always come with the stock already fitted and installed. But they've changed some things like hammer spurs don't come with accessory barrels any more, just another cost cutting measure. But I'd be surprised if it doesn't come with it, it's listed as a factory only part, so you can't order it, you were likely just told wrong, seems to happen far too often.  :-\

Today I received the 45lc-BC stock and forearm that I ordered this past Monday. Thought that was good shipping time considerng they told me 10 days to two weeks. It came with the steel buttplate installed. Answers the question, do they have them in stock.
