commercial load for 45 LC w/ hunting & practical applications

What rounds have you had success with or like for a 45 LC? Buffalo bore makes one for the 45 LC by FA, but I am curious if that load is too hot to shoot MANY MANY TIMES for YEARS? Will this load eventually put stress into the gun? I don't know the CUP of the load. Also, corbon has some, but they will not share CUP or PSI from their loads so they (IMO) are out of the question.

I want something I can hunt with, but with fixed sights I would like it to be a round not so extreme/hot...as I would like to plink and hunt with same round...which means a lot of these rounds shot over time, possibly up to a 1000 rounds or more each year.

Are you talking about the FA 97 or the FA 83?

Both are strong guns.  The 83 is, of course, stronger.

Take a look at the offerings of my friend, Mike Rintoul at www.grizzlycartridge.com ... His 260 grain +P offering works just fine in the Model 97.  One thing to watch for in the Model 97 45 Colt is overall length ... 2.6" or thereabouts ... this particular load is not a problem.

Model 97

That would be 1.6" btw.

Oh, I couldn't get the link to work.
