I live in Jupiter and fish the juno beach pier whenever I get a chance. For the last couple of months, there were hundred of snook on the beach and under the pier, but it was not season for them. I've been told that the snook have left (or at least most of them). As such, when the season reopens sometime (in I think September) there won't be any around. Still, about a couple of months ago we caught (and released) snook of all sizes. I caught one about 28 inches right on the surf. I mean RIGHT ON the surf - like in maybe 1 foot of water or less. People on the beach could see the fish right there in front of them.
