S+W Question??
« on: June 30, 2006, 09:59:12 AM »
I saw a S+W DA .45 Colt revolver at a gun shop today, marked S+W Model of 1989. It had a jeweled trigger and hammer, and one of the smoothest actions I've ever felt. Can anyone shed some light on my find?
Thanks,
Don

S+W Question??

All of the Model of 1989 guns I have seen have been in .45acp, but i do believe I may have heard of some in .45 Colt.  Most I have seen are 5 inch barrels.  They are in the "N" frame series.  The jewelled trigger and hammer indicate custom work, which can be good or bad.  The smoothest S&W I ever bought was a mod 629 that had a super slick action, it wouldn't go off though, and cost 200+$ to get the "custom" work undone.  If the one you are looking at was done well, it's a bonus, if not, it's a big problem.  If it indeed is in .45 Colt, it would be a neat gun, .45 Colt is one of my favorite cartridges.
