tennis elbow in my old age.
« on: June 12, 2006, 09:07:49 AM »
i am currently in the grips of it yet again......i get it alot these days.  it gets seriously agrivated by shooting my recurve....even with a brace to hold the tendons tight.  any suggestions?

and going down below 55#s aint an option for me.

even with real light duty shooting seems to aggrivate it anymore.  im just sick about it.  its cutting into my shooting big time........and i cant even hold without shaking anymore.  i only shoot a dozen arrows at a sitting these days.  i have a feeling its an old wresttling injury from my high school days 25 years ago where i dislocated it and now as i get older it acts up more.

wijim: have you consulted with a physical therapist?  I have a friend in the South Bend area that is a traditional bowhunter and a physical therapist, and I know he has offered help for my shoulder that worked.  If you ask at a local hospital, they should be able to put you in touch with one.  It might surprise you the rather unorthodox exercises they can come up with, but they can zero in on a spot such as your elbow.

Best of luck, Arch--another one fast qualifying for the 'ol' geezer' category!!
