thoughts on marrying Broughton Barrels to Nesika or Howa?
« on: June 05, 2006, 07:11:40 AM »
am looking to have a custom job done....and the barrel has been decided upon....Broughton Light Varmint....the question remains the action....either Nesika Bay or Howa.....

The builder says there would be no difference in the final analysis regarding accuracy....ONCE, all of the specific work would be completed on the Howa action, which would be the typical trueing, lapping etc.....

Essentially the notion is that with the work to be done on the Howa action, and the cost associated with doing it, that at the end of the day the two actions would be virtually identical in accuracy.....the Nesika would not need the amount of work, if any, that the Howa would but the dollar trade off would be fundamentally equal....Howa plus work - vs. - Nesika Bay with no work needed....

Would like to know how you all react to that notion.....reasonable, make sense, or not?.....how do you all feel?.....

Oh, a Sako extractor would also be put on the Howa in addition to all of the trueing work...

Go with the Nesika bay made in South Dakota. They are spending money to improve the machinery and processes. Very clever people making a very fine product.
