Savage 22 smoothbore report!
« on: May 02, 2006, 06:36:59 PM »
I finally got me a smoothbore 22 for shooting 22 shotshells. I bought it not really expecting awsome results, but hoping it'd at least stretch my range by another few feet.

I shot it some today with the Winchester crimped shot shells, and now I'm very glad I bought it!  I patterned it first at about 10'. At that range it tears a pop can up something awfull. At 20', it's still giving me about a 7"- 8" pattern with a few shot hitting outside that circle. At 30', it's still good enough to put a fair amount of shot into a rat or starling!

You can bet I'll be tearing the rats up as soon as I get a chance for another visit to the dairy barn! :-D
