I have some Nosler BT 250gr. and some Privi-Partisan 286gr conventional bullet.  Any suggestions on what to use for Black Bear, big ones Canada.  The range is about 20 yards.   Thanks Buckfever

I'd go with the 286 RN every time in that kind of situation

Buckfever.....20 yards sounds like you are hunting from a tree stand...myself I would just use 270gr. speers at a vel. no more than 2000fps.....you have a very handy rifle and the low vel. load would be more comfortable shooting from a tree stand I would think....I ordered the same rifle back in Nov. and it should be here any day....can't wait  to shoot cast bullets in it....and I will be using it for Spring Black Bear here in B.C.....How do you like your rifle so far???....be sure to report back on your hunt also....and I will do the same...good luck~~~ :-)~~~

I love this gun!!  It is perfectly balanced for me.  I had a grind to fit Limbsaver pad put on and kept the same LOP.  Most people get spooked when you tell them the caliber size.  They don't, like me at first, realize it is a different game with large for caliber bullets and low velocity.  I am going to spend sometime on the range this coming weekend to gain confidence.  I also thought if a friend can do this bear hunting with a Bow I can use iron sights.  I will post to the board about the gun after the hunt which is the week of May 8th.  Pretty juiced!!!!!!   Thanks  Buckfever
