SIG 220

Went to Gander Mountian today looking for wife a pistol to shoot,she can't do a 45.Found a Sig 220 in 9mm
for $249.99.I woud say 75 to 80%.Are they  any good?I saw were they are European Pistols.
Any info will be greatly apprecated.

Was it a 220 or a 225 (P6)?
I have seen a bunch of the european P6 turn ins that were refurbished and are for sale for that price.  it is a chopped and bobed P220 for the most part.
There were a bunch of P220's made in 38 Super and 45.  That were imported by Browning as the BDA (Browning Double Action)  If you have one in 9mm for $250 get it.
The sig line of 22? guns are real reliable and smooth.  Some have the european mag relaese on the heel of the grip, but mags are still available.

It is a 220 in 9mm done paid for it just have to wait 3 days.has the mag release on the bottom.Looks like a lot of holster wear barrel was clean.seems tight. will Give an update later in the week.

Got the 220 cleaned it shot it it's a keeper.Dirtest pistol I  ever seen.Will try to post pictures soon.

Preacherman: I owned one and I regret selling it. The most accurate pistol I have owned til today right out of the box. When you load the clip up, the balance and feel of the gun is superb........ at least for me. I hope you enjoy it and if you ever think of selling, let me know.

It just don't get any better than a Sig...........if my butt is ever again on the line, I hope I am packing one of my Sigs.

I own several of them, never had a bad one.  I can't say that for one of the more popular makes of the .45.  I owned two of them, both junk, but they have new homes today. ::)

Rockbilly I have added one of my wife's Sigs to my CCW battery! It is a Sig P -239 in .40 cal and it is very very accurate. Yesterday I shot the pistol (2mags) on double action only and since the new spring kit was installed, it will know shoot 1 inch groups at 30ft. It will make me a good truck gun bare-none. ;D

Tonk.  What you should do now is find a .357 Sig barrel for the 239, it will swap out with the .40 and using the .40 mag you have a choice between the two.

The .357 Sig is a souped-up 9mm but I am told by friends on the Texas Department of Public Safety that it is a 100 yard handgun, haven't tried it myself, but have managed to shoot some fairly tight groups at 50 yards with mine.

Rockbilly, I am (5 Sigs) Sig, Kimber (3) , Glock (6) for sure poor!!! I really need to sell some of these pistols, man do they add up in a hurry. ::)  :o   ;D  ;D

Not to mention the Colts, Smith & Wesson's, Springfields and #1 Kel-Tec PF-9  ;) :)  ;D

RockaBilly......The .357-Sig is a good pistol caliber but I now have a converted Glock model 20 with a 9 x 25 Dillion barrel and it shoots a .357cal bullet on top of that 10mm case downrange at 1700fps. Trust me it is a whole lot more than the .357 Sig with the same weight bullet.

Tonk.  I have owned a Glock in 9x25 for almost 10 years; today it is a safe queen along with the old Winchester model 70 in .300 mag.  The 9x25 isn’t a pleasant round for older folks, the shock radiates all the way up the arm to the shoulder when shot.  Yes it is a great rou8nd, but I doubt there are many that get off a quick second shot with it due to the recoil.  And ammo for the gun is ridiculous, at approximately $2.25 a round for factory loads you have to be a banker to shoot it.  Of course if you reload it isn’t too bad.

At my age I have all the aches and pains I need without introducing more, I’ll stick with the .357 Sig. ;) ;)

woodduck, it is a .355.
