trouble attaching forearm.
« on: March 20, 2006, 02:18:05 PM »
today i received my 26" heavy barrel in .260rem from foxridge custom shop. when trying to attach the forearm, i found that along the edges of the forearm, between the 2 mounting studs that there is quite a bit of contact. right now i am unable to attach the forearm. my buddy also received the same contoured barrel today and his mounted right up. both of our frame/stock combos are new and have never been used. should i just get a dremel tool and remove the material where the contact is occuring or see about getting another forearm?

Hi
T/C has several forearms for standard, and heavy factory  contours...Custom shop heavy barrel is a still heavier contour....They sell a wood forearm for it. There are also forearms for muzzleloader, and shotgun. I thought about maybe getting one for a shotgun and see how that fit and openning it up to fit. But chickened out and spent some more money for the correct forearm. You could open up yours but then your other barrel will not look right...
Good Luck
jim
