Hello jeager106
I recently picked up a nice model 19-4 pinned and Recessed that Dates 1980. It was as close to new in box, as I have seen in a long time. Lately the K-frame revolver prices seem to slowly climbing, as the-N-frame did. I focus on all pinned and recessed revolver's as well as Nickel finishes when adding revolver's to my collection. These are options & Finishes that S&W does not offer any more and will allow appreciation as time passes. The one shown I paid $350.00 for. It came to me shipped in the wrong box, but I added the correct box and documents for it at an additional cost of $30.00, which was a Bargain as the Gray boxes that the factory used to ship the Nickel guns are hard to find in good shape, and adding this brought the total to $380.00.

I feel any decent looking S&W wheel gun should baseline at the $350.00 mark as current prices to show this average as well. The seller added the older Diamond grips shown, and some one prior to him owning them had ruined them by sanding out the factory placed dished portion. I placed it back in them, and refinished them as shown. These typically sell for $60.00-$100.00 when they can be found, so in this case they were a given, and now reside on the 19 for shooting it. I have the correct target grips stored away that came on the revolver as well. lately I have been focusing on purchasing Pinned & recesed revolver's in 4" configuration with Nickel finishes. I believe they will appreciate in value as time passes as they are not available any more like this from the factory or never will be again, as I mentioned earlier. I also look at what comes with a purchase as the final deciding factor of what I pay. If a revolver comes with special target grips or the correct factory box, this should be considered as an add on to the asking price as several come just as a handgun, and purchasing these items may be costly to make a revolver right in completing a package.I hope this helps answer your questions, Take care, :bye: Hammerdown
