Author Topic: Quiver mouted on a recurve? (Read 1103 times)

Just a quick question,

I have a recurve which looks to be a Martin x200. I got it for CHRISTmas when I was 16 or 17 from my folks.

I recently picked it back up again and I am training for bow hunting this fall.

I would like to know if there is a quiver out there that I can mount on the recurve? I am looking for something that will hold 3-4 arrows the smaller the better.

I also wanted to know if these quivers ( If they exist) are bolted on to the recurve does this comprimise the intergrety of the bow or do they attach without drilling and screws?

If they still make them, Selway quivers are great. They slip over the limb, and can be pulled down to the riser. Check three rivers archery, or Kustom King to see if they have them.

In '92 I bought a quiver from Screamin' Eagle Archery that fastened with a strap of velcro, excuse me, hook and latch material. There isn't a name on the quiver and I dont remember it either. It served me well until I retired it last year for a long bow. I bought a Great Northern for the long bow and after 1 season have no complaints. This one wraps on with a rubber strap, very good design. Finally , no I dont believe bolting a quiver on to a riser, if done properly, will sacrifice its integrity. You can buy"riser inserts", which are bushings similiar to what a cabinet maker would use. Bear used these bushings on his bows for years, I also have them on my '92 vintage Martin T.D. Check out 3rivers and Kustom King as Mad Dog suggested, excellent companies to do business with. Also check out the "Skookum" 3 arrow quiver It might be what your looking for. I have tried several in the past and the ones by Great Northern were by far the best in my opinion.

Well I bought and had delivered a Easy detach Selway recurve quiver from 3Rivers.
They delivered in a timely fashion and the quiver is everything I want!!!

I thought my groups would be off because of the extra weight on my Recurve and I couldn't have been more wrong. Grouping was great and I actually found having the quiver on a little reassuring???

glad it worked out well.

those guys at 3 rivers are just fantastic people. i stopped at their place in indianna....and seeing how they operate..i was just impressed. they are what an archery company should be. i wanted to try some of their tomahawk long bows...but they had them all on the line being built....so they offered for me to shoot "their personal bows"....each of their employees that had a bow there offered it to me to shoot. and they have a range in their break room...lol

i was very impressed.
