I have a ruger 280 which i will use for hunting for the first time this year. I am in the market for something smaller to shoot coyotes and squirrels with, which are in abundance in my part of Califorinia.
Here's my quandry...
what to get?
I have a friend that would like to see me his Tikka 223. Another shoots a 22-250. I am leaning towards the 223 for the simple fact that ammo is cheap and readily available.
Now... the Tikka has a 22" barrel. I noticed some of the other varmint rifles are 24''-26" inches in barrel length. Is 22" long enough? Would i want a longer barrel for the purpose i would by the gun for?
ANY help would be appreciated...thank you
