Hunting since deer season
« on: February 09, 2006, 05:17:42 AM »
Just wondering if anybody has been out after small game or predators since deer season. The weather here has been pretty interesting but I've still managed to get out after small game and the occasional fox and yote. I've done fairly well with several squirrels, about a dozen rabbits and a few grouse. I'v even managed to get 2 red fox, 1 gray, and 2 yotes. Crows have been great around here too. Not sure of exctally how many I've taken but I did have my personal best day 3 weeks ago with 37 in day at 3 different spots. I had more time to get out this week but unfortunately the weather hasn't cooperated. Hopefully next week I can get out agin.

I hear ya' Whitetailer. In past years I always got out for some small game hunting over the winter, but not this year. It kills me to think that it's already mid February and I haven't been out since deer season. I have done a little bit of shed hunting with the kids, but that's it. I am definitely getting some serious cabin fever!

Sorry to hear you guy's have not gotten out much. I am very fortunate to have a flexible work schedule. Since I only work 3 days a week and it flips so that one week I work days and the next nights it gives me plenty of time to get my honey do list done with some time for hunting and fishing. I have alot of hunting buddies that only get the weekend off and have to admit that I feel bad for them when they have to work instead of going with me.

Leatherstocking I know what you mean about the cabin fever. I go nuts when the weathers been too bad to do anything. Hang in there it's bound to get better.
