Encore vs. FFL
« on: May 10, 2003, 06:13:04 PM »
I always thought that because the Encore could be converted from blackpowder to highpower rifle by simply changing the barrels, you had to go through an FFL dealer to puchase one. I did when I bought mine, even though I bought it in .50 blackpowder. I notice that Sportman's Guide (www.sportsmansguide.com) is selling them as blackpowder guns with no mention of FFL, just to check with local state restrictions. I don't think Sportsman's Guide even has a company FFL. Am I right in my belief that an FFL is needed?
It only hurts for a minute

Yes you are because when you order a T/C you don't recieve a complete rifle or pistol.  You recieve a frame in one box and the barrel.

Now keep in mind that T/C also sells true blackpowder rifles and sportman's guide might be incorrect in what they are advertising.
