Black Canyon of the Gunnison: Now with Pictures!
« on: January 15, 2006, 06:27:52 PM »
Here is a picture of last Octobers backpack and fishing trip into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.  This an annual trip my younger brother and I have been doing for 17 years.

Down in bottom of the canyon.

One of 72 trout I caught in one and a half days fishing. Size 11 boot

Slide Draw Hike out.

At the top with my younger brother looking down on river/gorge

A view of Slide draw from the south side during winter. Slide draw is the middle slot in the cliff face, in the shade. "Kind of a tough hike".

Enjoy,

BeanMan post.

Looks like the picture did not make it.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

That's cuz you can't just give the local address of an image on your hard drive and expect it to show up on the internet. You have to get a URL assigend to it by someone who hosts images.

Go to:

photobucket.com and register (it is free).  You can then upload pics from your computer to that site.  Then you can download to this site.

A brownie from the Black Canyon.  when we first started this trip we caught 90% rainbows.  Now, with whirling disease, it is 95% Brown trout.

These are the places we all yearn for.  Now-a-days one has to work really hard to get to them.  Us old pharts are envious for sure.  I suppose I need to purchase a chopper (Helo) kit so I can access these beautiful spots of God's creation.  They are worth the effort however we can get there.
