Hawks #2 and #3

Fired up the forge this weekend.

Top one is #2.  It's about 6 5/8" long and a little under 2.4" at the cutting edge.  It weighs right around 9 ounces.

Bottom one is #3  It's a little over 5 1/2" long and is 2.57" at the cutting edge.  It also weighs right around 9 ounces.

Both are forged from 100 year old Wrought Iron and 5160.

I still have some refining to do and then a deeper etch before they are finished.
I'm getting a little better, but I'm still not entirely happy with the results.

Thanks for looking!

Surely look really good to me Sherm.  Not real positive as to where you're trying to go, but then I've showed folks knives that I wan't totally happy with and they thought I was crazy.  Can't see what's in my(your)head.  In the meantime, your gettin' there is looking good.

The welds, overall dimensions, bit sizes, working the eye.  This is kind of what I was referring too.  I think they are good, I'm just not "happy" with them.

Hey, Sherm!
Nice lookin' Hawks!
Trade you some of that Osage in my barn for some Hawk forgin' lessons!
Those logs were cut down in the 60's. Nice and dry.

No trading necessary Karl.  Your place or mine?
